Maeda, Kawasaki Frontale, and J League stars respond to Reo Hatate's Hearts vs Celtic Insta post
Daizen Maeda, Kawasaki Frontale, and several J-League stars have all responded to Reo Hatat’s Instagram post as he reacted to last night’s Celtic win over Hearts.
Hatate stole the show against the Jambos with an absolutely howitzer of a strike in the first half. The midfielder marked his first Celtic goal since arriving from Japan, and it was certainly an eye-opener of a strike as the Hoops took a 2-1 victory from Edinburgh.
Hatate has already published a reactionary post on Instagram to the game. And it caught the attention of several of his former J-League teammates as well as his former club:
Responding to the strike was Hatate’s former Kawasaki Frontale teammates Jung Sung Ryong and Yu Kobayashi. Vissel Kobe star Gotoku Sakai. As seen above, Kawasaki Frontale themselves also get in on the act along with Celtic teammates Maeda and Josip Juranovic.
It’s a hugely special occasion for Hatate after signing for the club from Kawasaki in January. Despite fears over potentially needing time to settle in, the former J-League star has instantly become a fans-favorite.
And ahead of huge games against Dundee United and Rangers, he’s certainly solidified his spot.
Reo Hatate makes storming start to his Celtic career, but momentum can’t stop
It would be great if we were in a position to just relax for a week and take stock of a couple of brilliant appearances from Hatate against Hibernian and Hearts. He certainly deserves it and, for most other signings, they tend to get that kind of luxury.
However, unfortunately, the games just keep coming thick and fast. So much so that we already need Reo to have moved on from last night and focused on the challenge posed by Dundee United this weekend. There really is absolutely no room for error at this stage.
Of course, his goal against Hearts will continue to be shown up and down the country. It will no doubt have reached Japan too as one of their J-League stars makes another substantial impact in Europe.
Not that Celtic fans will be expecting wonder goals like we saw last night on a consistent basis of course. We’ll keep the head and keep our fingers crossed that the midfielder just keeps improving and wowing us with his all-round game.
We’ve still to learn so much more about Hatate’s game and his main strengths/weaknesses. But the way in which he approached the Hearts powderkeg clash last night is extremely promising. Similar to Matt O’Riley in that respect.
Now all eyes move towards Saturday and another must-win match at Celtic Park.
