Celtic loanee Maik Nawrocki has compared the atmosphere of playing in the 2. Bundesliga derby between Hannover 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig to a Glasgow derby.
Nawrocki’s 30th minute header proved to be all they needed as Hannover continued to remain in the hunt for promotion back to the top flight of German football.
The defender has played in a Glasgow derby before and he reckons the noise inside the ground was on par with what he experience while playing for Celtic.
The 2026 transfer window is still months away, but what is the number one position Celtic need to improve this summer?📝

Speaking to the press afterwards, the Polish star said that his experience of playing in derby matches for Celtic helped with his preparation and that winning made him want to celebrate with the fans.
He said: “Both are incredible matches.
“To play in these games are very special moments for a footballer and both are moments you’re happy to cherish.
“To score the winning goal in a game like this is something I will always remember.

“We have now beaten them twice in one season which is something that hasn’t happened in a long time.
“Just like in Glasgow, when you win games like this, it makes the fans very happy.
“I want to go out and celebrate with them now!”
Is there a way back for Maik Nawrocki at Celtic?
The Bhoys will need a centre-back in the summer and if Hannover don’t trigger their option to buy, there is a chance he returns to Glasgow.
Celtic will not be short of offers for his services given how well he has performed in Germany and as the Hoops have plenty of left-footed centre-backs, he may be deemed surplus to requirements.
Several managers have taken a look at him and decided that they would be better using somebody else, so it is hard to see any world in which he will wear a Celtic shirt again.
