When the Celtic first-team returned to pre-season training on Monday, there was a boost to the squad as a key man returned to training.
The Scottish Sun revealed that Leigh Griffiths returned to first-team training after a long absence. Griffiths has not played any football since December after dealing with off-field issues.
Manager will be delighted

However, he now looks set to return to the fold and be available for the start of the season. Hoops boss Neil Lennon will be delighted that Griffiths is back in training for the Hoops.
He was a big miss for the side at times last season. His absence was particularly felt when Odsonne Edouard was injured.

That led to events such as Mikey Johnston playing up-front for the Hoops. That will hopefully not have to be the case next season.
Will take time for player to get back to his best
Naturally it will take Griffiths time to get back up to speed for the Hoops. It would be best not to expect too much from him when he returns to the team.

Neil Lennon will have that attitude. He will know that it will take time for Griffiths to get back to his very best. However, his presence in the squad for the Champions League qualifiers will certainly be a boost.
It remains to be seen how often Griffiths will feature for the Hoops when the season begins. It is certainly a boost to have him back training though.
