Celtic fans have been eagerly awaiting the debut of Marian Shved. The attacker comes to Glasgow with a big reputation, having scored 15 goals last season for his former side Karpaty Lviv.
Now Hoops boss Neil Lennon has revealed that Shved will make his debut when the Hoops take on Wiener SC on Saturday afternoon.
“We will give him some game time”

“Shved looks good. He has trained well so obviously we will give him some game time on Saturday” Lennon said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“He’s had a bit of a break and now has trained well with us. It’s like having a new player.”

It makes sense for the player to play some part in Austria. If he does well, perhaps Lennon will feature Shved in Tuesday’s friendly against St Gallen.
Played as a striker
That is the last friendly Celtic will play before the Champions League qualifier against Sarajevo. Interestingly, Shved played more games for his former side as a striker than a winger last season.

As he will be competing against James Forrest for a place in the Hoops team, perhaps Neil Lennon’s way of thinking is to use Shved as a second striker.
We shall find out more once he has made his Hoops debut. Hopefully he turns in a good performance and kicks on from there into the Champions League qualifiers.
