Martin O’Neill had Jim White and Simon Jordan in stitches after a Dermot Desmond story.
It was Desmond who gave O’Neill the call, on two occasions this season, to help Celtic in a moment of emergency.
To say the interim boss has helped Celtic in his two spells this season would be an understatement. His record has significantly exceeded any reasonable expectations in such challenging circumstances.
Speaking to White and Jordan on Tuesday, O’Neill had them in stitches with a story about the club’s principal shareholder.
What would you say to Dermot Desmond about Celtic’s transfer model now?

Asked on talkSPORT about his second interim spell being tougher than his first, O’Neill said: “Absolutely. Absolutely. You knew that when you went in there first of all, you were in for a short period of time.
“As I said to Dermot Desmond… the major shareholder said, ‘You could be two weeks or two months’.

“It turned out it was no more than 40 days. And you knew that that was coming to an end at some stage or another.
“Then, when you step in in the first week of January – what was it, the sixth or seventh of January – whatever date it was, you start to think.
“I’d not have thought in my head about a January transfer window, and deadlines, and things like this here. And not just that there – expectation going up. ‘You’ll just go in again and results will follow’.
“It absolutely has been far more difficult. Far more difficult this time. One, because it’s a longer period – or you think you’re in for a longer period…
“I was speaking to Dermot Desmond the second time. I said, ‘I might not last that length of time in terms of results!’
“And do you know what he said? I thought he would be accommodating, and he said, ‘I know!’
“So it’s been like that. It honestly has been some really good moments…”

Dermot Desmond and Celtic behind the scenes this season
Desmond had never been the most popular figure at Parkhead, but this season, he and the board have taken more flak than ever.
The Celtic Fans Collective has mobilised in demand of real change, and Peter Lawwell has resigned as chairman.
A real, significant change would be in ownership and Alan Brazill has suggested that Desmond will sell his shares in the club on multiple occasions.
If the current situation continues, it certainly feels like something has to give.
