Celtic survived going a goal down against Ross County to recover and record a late victory to maintain their spot at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Ronan Hale opened the scoring for the Staggies from the spot, leading Brendan Rodgers to call on the cavalry in the second half.
The likes of Paulo Bernardo, James Forrest, Luke McCowan and Kyogo Furuhashi entered the picture. They helped the visitors wrestle back control, but it was Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn who came up trumps to secure the points with late strikes.
Eventually, Celtic prevailed against Ross County to end the week on a positive note, setting up a top-of-the-table Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen on the other side of the international break.
Hard-fought victories are part and parcel of what makes a domestic champion. Marvin Bartley has now evaluated why he thinks the win last weekend has taken on an elevated level of significance.
Marvin Bartley on Celtic’s win over Ross County
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Bartley thinks the ‘circumstances’ of Celtic being able to overturn a deficit despite not putting on their most fluid performance made victory even sweeter in the Highlands.
He stated: “It’s a very, very good win because of the circumstances and the way it panned out, the performance at times for Celtic (wasn’t brilliant), they had to use the substitutes and the impact when they came on and made.

“Listen, as I said earlier, when you get to the end of the season, you don’t look back at Dingwall and say ‘Oh, it wasn’t the best of performances’, it’s three points. They all matter exactly the same.
“It’ll be an important win definitely. Is the title over? No, Aberdeen are firmly there, I’m sure Rangers will do their utmost to close the gap as well, but in terms of heading in the right direction, they’re definitely doing that with their 100% record.”
Celtic set themselves up for exciting fixture run
It goes without saying, but Celtic managing to turn the tide against Ross County became even more important following Aberdeen’s victory over Hearts later in the day.
Showing the other side of their game, the Bhoys are now in a handy position heading into a compelling run of fixtures that supporters will be more than excited to see unfold.

Taking a look at their next five, clashes against Aberdeen, Atalanta and RB Leipzig in such a short space of time are the pick of the bunch.
Undoubtedly, Rodgers will need to manage his squad to see the Bhoys through, as he knows their run of games after the international break could go a long way to determining the direction of their season.
