Maryan Shved reminded the Celtic fans what he’s capable of after netting a stunning hat-trick in Karpaty Lviv’s 4-0 away win over Vorskla.

The Ukrainian winger, signed then immediately loaned out by Celtic in January, sealed off a super Sunday for Celtic.

Fresh from their 4-1 win over Motherwell at Celtic Park, fans will have been happy with news of Shved’s hat-trick.

It was Shved’s first appearance back at Karpaty, and he demonstrated his massive potential with the treble.

Next season, Shved will become the first Ukrainian to play for Celtic when he joins up with the squad.

When he signed in January, Brendan Rodgers described the winger as one for the future.

Speaking to The Express Rodgers said:  “He will go back to Ukraine and finish off his season there with his club.

“He will then come back to Scotland around April and get involved with the training before being ready to go in the summer.”

Although it doesn’t look like Celtic are desperate for his services immediately, Shved’s hat-trick is a nice little reminder of the winger’s talents.

The winger has already broken into the Ukraine national set up, having secured a cap last year.

Shved has netted 11 goals in 19 matches in the league for his side this season.

It was that kind of form that won him his move to Celtic.

Rodgers wants his wingers to play a massive part in the attack for Celtic. Therefore, it would do the team no harm if Shved is capable of replicating his form in the Bhoys’s green and white.

The future may be sooner than you think

Shved’s hat-trick may not count for much in terms of Celtic’s season.

However it is a nice sign that loan players are being successful during their time away.

The winger’s goal scoring exploits are sure to have caught the attention of Rodgers and his staff.

For all the talk of being for the future, Shved may find himself a big part of Celtic’s plans before too long.
