Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley has delivered a brilliant Instagram response to teammate Stephen Welsh after setting him up for the opening goal on Sunday.
The Danish under-21 internationalist found the head of the defender from a corner delivery to help the Bhoys take an early lead against Aberdeen.
After scoring Celtic’s first goal of the new campaign, Welsh was quick to post pictures of his quality celebrations on social media.
Several of the 22-year-old’s Celtic teammates responded to the post, with the likes of Joe Hart, Mikey Johnston and Moritz Jenz praising the defender.
O’Riley, who had a part to play in the goal, also responded with a hilarious quip, stating that Welsh’s ‘meat head’ was an easy target to find from the corner.
The academy graduate hit back with some humour of his own, saying: “🤣🤣on a plate”, in reaction to the funny comment from the former MK Dons man.
With the Celtic squad growing closer together over the past 12 months, we have seen some brilliant interactions on social media between teammates.
Exchanges like this between Welsh and O’Riley on social media are what have made this squad so likeable, and it has created some superb characters in the dressing room.
It just goes to show the bond that Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff have created within the squad in a short space of time.

Having those close relationships will only aid Celtic in their push for more trophies this season, with the squad being together as one going into every game.
Hopefully, it also isn’t the last time we see this particular Celtic duo link-up, which would be the result of plenty more success from set pieces.
