Celtic will focus on retaining their Scottish Premiership title for now before turning their focus to the Scottish Cup final against Rangers on May 25th.

If Rangers fail to see off Dundee at Ibrox, the Bhoys could be officially crowned league champions as early as this evening.

Failing that, Brendan Rodgers’ men have to hone in on at least taking a point at Rugby Park tomorrow without complacency creeping into the group to unlock title-winning success.

On the season’s final day, Scottish Cup final excitement will come to the fore at Hampden as Celtic take on Rangers to determine who claims the final piece of silverware available this campaign.

Buckie Thistle, St Mirren, Livingston and Aberdeen have been put to the sword by Rodgers, who has a perfect record in the competition, amassing 16 victories on the trot.

Nevertheless, an evenly split crowd can be a leveller at the national stadium regardless of form. Celtic have no room for complacency despite recording three wins and a draw against Rangers this term.

Matt O’Riley on how Celtic will approach the Scottish Cup final

Granted, it may be too soon to cast an eye to the Scottish Cup final while league matters take precedence; however, it is taking place in under two weeks, and build-up to the showpiece occasion is already starting to develop.

Matt O’Riley has also been looking ahead to another tussle against Rangers, though he isn’t allowing an inch of complacency to enter his psyche despite possessing a fantastic Glasgow Derby record.

He stated [Cited via STV News]: “I definitely think the confidence is there. I don’t think you can look back at games too much and take them with you. I think every game poses different challenges.

“When it comes to that game, we’ll study them like we always do and go into it with an open mind. If you hold on to previous results too much, then it can feel a little bit distracting. We’ll approach it as a new game.”

Celtic are in the market to finish off their Scottish Premiership business before setting their sights on the Scottish Cup; however, it is refreshing to see that O’Riley and company will take a meticulous approach to the game.

For now, at least, events on May 25th will enter the backburner as Rodgers looks to give his side one last jolt to get over the line in the title race.
