How do you know that Christmas is coming soon? When Celtic start to preview the yearly tradition that is the Celtic Christmas advert.

This is a video that has been going for years, and features the players and management dressed up in goods available from the Celtic shop, and usually in scenarios which require ‘acting’.

Manager conducted choir in last season’s video

For example, last season’s video featured a choir signing which was conducted by manager Neil Lennon. Former Celtic winger Jonny Hayes meanwhile impersonated an aeroplane. You can watch the video below for yourself.

Previous seasons’ videos featured Scott Brown as a pilot and Leigh Griffiths as a taxi driver. Now it seems that this season’s video is just around the corner.

We know this as on Thursday night, in the aftermath of Scotland’s win over Serbia, the Celtic Twitter account put up a Tweet featuring some photos of two of the heroes of Scotland’s win, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie, dressed in Celtic pyjamas outside Celtic Park. It also hinted that the video was ‘coming soon’.

No doubt the finished video will provide plenty of reaction when it is completed and released on Celtic’s social media accounts.

Goal is to publicise Hoops products

Of course, the goal of the video is to publicise what is for sale in Celtic’s shop. The Hoops will be hoping to make plenty of money from that side of the club at Christmas, and that could help make a tiny blip in the money that is being lost from no fans at the stadium.

Whilst some things are different this season, it is good to see that the Hoops will keep the yearly tradition going.

As for McGregor and Christie, this isn’t a week they’ll forget anytime soon. From dressing in pyjamas, to helping Scotland end 23 years of hurt. Such is the life of the modern day football player these days.

In other news, some Celtic fans reacted to Ryan Christie’s emotional interview after the Scotland game.
