Callum McGregor has hailed Jozo Simunovic’s form since returning to the Celtic first-team. Simunovic looked out of favour at the club under previous manager Brendan Rodgers.
However, circumstances have led to the centre-back having a run in the side under interim manager Neil Lennon. As a result, he seems certain to start Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.
McGregor has been impressed with how Simunovic’s form has improved under Lennon.
“Jozo has been brilliant since the manager changed” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“A real top player”
“He’s come up with big goals and looks a real top player again.”
So good has Simunovic’s recent form been that the Scottish Sun recently reported that Spanish side Alaves were interested in signing the player for £4 million.

McGregor hopes that the player doesn’t leave the club.
“It’s important we keep the big players” he said.
Must keep hold of player

Celtic would be silly to sell Simunovic in the next transfer window. He has proved in his recent performances that he still has a future at the club. For that, he deserves plenty of credit.
With Dedryck Boyata gone and Filip Benkovic unlikely to return, the Hoops need all their centre-backs at the moment.
Simunovic looks set to be a vital part of the team of the upcoming Champions League qualifiers. That is a development few could have seen coming only a short time ago.
