Micah Richards and Robert Snodgrass respond to Joe Hart's class Celtic Instagram post

Joe Hart lauded the Celtic welcome he received at Parkhead yesterday in an Instagram post, before Micah Richards and Robert Snodgrass chipped in with responses.

Hart made his Parkhead debut in the 6-0 routing of Dundee. It was Ange Postecoglou’s first Premiership home match in charge of the club, and a statement was firmly put down.

However, it was also Hart’s first clean sheet for the club after making his debut against Jablonec last Thursday night in the Europa League. The big Englishman had very little to do in yesterday’s clash, but showed decent distribution when the ball was at his feet.

And yesterday, he sent out a message to the Celtic support after his maiden Parkhead appearance. And two ex-teammates in Richards and Snodgrass were quick to respond:

Hart appears to be Celtic’s new number one from here on in. Despite the notion that he’s here to battle the likes of Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain, it’s been clear the former Man City man is the club’s first choice.

Hart has still to truly be tested since joining the club last week however. There will be much bigger tests to come than what he experienced yesterday. But just like the rest of the club, he needed that day against the Dee.

Joe Hart Instagram post shows he’s feeling the love of the Celtic supporters already

Celtic have had goalkeeping troubles stretching back to last summer when Barkas came in. The Hoops just weren’t able to depend on either him or Bain. It’s a massive part of why we were so shaky last season.

We all hope that Hart is going to prove to be the solution to our woes. Whilst there has been question marks over his distribution and ability to deal with long-range efforts – the veteran is clearly an upgrade on what we have.

It hasn’t taken long for him to feel the love and appreciation of the Hoops support either. And there’s something about this relationship that just feels right for each other at the moment.

There are major tests about to come Hart’s way of course. After Jablonec on Thursday, we’ll have Hearts at Celtic Park in the League Cup. Not to mention a Europa League playoff against AZ Alkmaar assuming we don’t suffer a total disaster later this week.

Many eyes will already be looking forward to Celtic’s trip to Ibrox on August 29th too. That will be an acid test for so many of these Celtic players, especially with Ibrox likely to be a full house.

So we’re now into a big month for Hart and the rest of the new Celtic signings. A month that will prove if they were smart buys or not. So far, in Hart’s case, the evidence is promising.
