Michael Stewart was left mightily impressed with Celtic star Tom Rogic at Fir Park yesterday and has credited Ange Postecoglou for getting the best out of the player.
Rogic was rampant against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, scoring two goals, hitting the post and generally tearing apart the opposition.
It was brilliant to see him arrive off the back of an international break in such incredible form, something we may not have seen from him in years gone by.
And Stewart thinks Postecoglou has unlocked a ‘desire’ in Rogic he hasn’t seen in years, if at all.

Speaking on Sunday night’s edition of Sportscene, the pundit said: “Yeah he was magnificent. He is definitely getting back to the levels he was at a number of years ago. He was central to everything.
“That desire for him to get forward there [for the chance he hit the post with]. If you look at the number of games Tom Rogic is playing now. He’s started more games this season than in the last couple of seasons already, we’re only in February. He’s played more 90 minutes this season already than in the last four years.
“So he is getting back to the levels we saw under Brendan Rodgers. He’s still doing a lot of travelling. But the desire there, he plays that crossfield ball then he runs 50 yards to try and get his hat-trick. I think previously, even at his best, he’d have great moments of skill but he might not have made that 50-yard run.
“There’s no question in my mind Ange Postecoglou is getting the best out of Tom Rogic and that benefits Celtic massively.”
For me, this is the best we have ever seen Rogic in a Celtic shirt. Yes, he’s had huge moments before – the goal against Kilmarnock or the treble-winner vs Aberdeen – but on a consistent basis, he has just been sublime this season.
His output has been exceptional. Not only has he scored five goals and assisted six, but he’s also completed over two dribbles a game on average, close to two key passes a game and its managing to get over two shots off per game. [WhoScored]
At his best, he’s the centre-piece of the Celtic attack around which everything else is built. We saw clear evidence of that yesterday and long may it continue.
