Mikael Lustig may be known for his excellent Celtic career, but the defender has decided to try his hand at something new.

Lustig spent seven years with the Bhoys and won eight Scottish Premiership titles, four Scottish Cups and four Scottish League Cups.

He nailed down the right-back slot for some time and, to some, is a Celtic legend.

After hanging up his boots in 2022, the former Sweden international is now in a whole new ball game.

Mikael Lustig launches YouTube channel

Many footballers have enjoyed golf as a form of downtime away from the pitch, and Lustig is no stranger to that.

To keep himself occupied, the 38-year-old has launched a YouTube channel dedicated to golf.

Named Lustig Golfar, the defender appears to be competing in challenges with some friends and former teammates.

At the time of writing, he only has one video, but you can expect to see many more, and even some with past and present Celtic players.

Why did Mikael Lustig leave Celtic?

After revealing that he nearly left Celtic after six months, Lustig admitted that staying in Glasgow was the best decision he made.

In the end he left in 2019 and the defender admitted that it was the right time to move on.

“It’s time for me and my family to move on,” said Lustig on Instagram.

“I had no idea how much this club and everything that comes with it would mean to me when I signed 7.5 years ago.

“I wish I would’ve had the chance to get a proper good bye. I just want to say thank you to everyone I’ve had the honour to meet and work with at Celtic, all the players and staff.

“The memories will stay with me forever. Thank you to all of you that made Glasgow feel like home for me and my family for so many years. I will never forget your support. Hopefully I’ll see you all soon.”
