Celtic attacker Mikey Johnston has revealed his goals for the season ahead. The attacker, who made his breakthrough into the Hoops first-team last season, hopes to become a regular in the first-team going forward.
“I had a couple of setbacks last season that probably stopped my development a wee bit” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“I can establish myself”

“But then I got back into the team again and I did alright. If I keep working hard I think I can establish myself.”
Johnston has impressed when he has featured for the Hoops. He was particularly good in the final league game of the season. His double gave the Hoops a 2-1 win over Hearts.

Unfortunate to feature in defeats
However, he was a tad unfortunate when he featured in both of Celtic’s defeats at Ibrox. He was not to blame for either of the defeats, as he was played out of position in both games.

Johnston could find it hard to hold down a regular place in the side as Celtic have so many attackers. There could be more players brought in this summer too.
However, he is right to point out that if he works hard he could keep a place in the side. It promises to be big season ahead of Johnston. If he manages to start the campaign well he could achieve his goals of becoming a regular in the side.
