Mohamed Elyounoussi was full of praise for his Celtic teammates after yesterday’s win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie, The Scottish Sun report.
The Norwegian international is becoming a more important member of Neil Lennon’s first-team with every match.
We’re beginning to see just the kind of things he can pull off now he’s building up better relationships with his new dressing room.
One player he’s not played much alongside is Tom Rogic.
However, Elyounoussi was left impressed by the Australian, describing his display as ‘brilliant’.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said of connecting with his teammates: “Tom Rogic came in and was brilliant. He found me twice for two of the goals.
“Boli Bolingoli and I were linking up along with James Forrest and Jeremie Frimpong on the other side.
“The relations are important and when you know where players are going to be it is a lot easier to play one-twos or play through. We’ll get better with more games.”
Rogic is peaking again
The Australian has had a long road back from fitness and injury issues throughout 2019 but it looks like he’s starting to reach peak fitness and form once again.
We know he loves a match against Aberdeen, but he was a sparkling presence at Pittodrie yesterday. His cross for Elyounoussi to chest and fire home was the kind of creativity we love to see from him.
He’s been fortunate recently in that Ryan Christie has been suspended. The Scotland international is likely to return to the starting eleven now that’s been served.
Rogic though is looking like a much more viable pick in Lennon’s midfield than he did even just a few weeks ago.
More matches are needed to get him fully up to speed, but the signs are positive and if players like Elyounoussi enjoy playing alongside him then he’ll no doubt get regular opportunities.
