Defenders up and down the country may not be too pleased to hear that Celtic loanee Mohamed Elyounoussi reckons he hasn’t even hit his top gear for the club yet.
The Norwegian international may have struck six goals in his last seven outings but that’s exactly what he’s promising the Hoops faithful.
The Daily Record have run some quotes from the in-form 25-year-old in which he also piled the praise on gaffer for Neil Lennon for his impact since joining.

“I really appreciate how often the gaffer has played me since I have arrived and that belief he has in me,” Elyounoussi said. “I am happy to repay him by scoring some goals and having some assists.
“I think over the next few months I can get even better. I think with the coaches we have here then I am confident I can get stronger.
“I came here to get some minutes and to try to help the team win some silverware.”

The Celtic support are really warming to Elyounoussi
Much has been made of the possibility of the club signing Elyounoussi on a permanent deal following the end of his loan spell. Discussion will continue, and likely ramp up, over the next six months so we’ll dodge that for now.
Instead we’ll focus on what we are definitely going to get for the next few months or so. Elyounoussi offers us so much quality in attack. He’s ever so comfortable on the ball, selfless, and also has an eye for goal. In addition to that, he also works for the team in a defensive sense and doesn’t leave his full-back isolated at any point.

If he feels he is only going to get better then who are we to disagree? His display in the weekend victory over Hibernian was his best in a Celtic shirt by far. Things he had tried in previous games were all coming off and he looked immense as a result.
If we’re in for more of that in the coming months then the Celtic support will be very pleased indeed.
