During Celtic’s recent 6-0 win over Ross County, one of the stars of the show was on-loan Southampton attacker Mohamed Elyounoussi.

The player scored Celtic’s first and last goal in the victory which took the Hoops back to the top of the Premiership table.

Despite his match-winning display, the player wasn’t satisfied. Indeed, he has commented that he was annoyed that he didn’t manage to score a hat-trick for the Hoops.

“Really wanted a hat-trick”

“I was still hungry after the second goal and really wanted a hat-trick, but in the end we got the three points which is the most important thing” he said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 16, Page. 20).

“Hopefully that will come next time as my last hat-trick was with FC Basel.”

Elyounoussi’s performance against Ross County was his best so far since joining the Hoops. He has now scored three goals for the club. His target for the season should be to reach at least double figures.

It seems inevitable that he will keep his place in the Hoops first-team that will take on Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday.

Was excellent in last Europa League game

He was excellent in the last Europa League match against Cluj, and opened the scoring for the Hoops in their 2-0 victory.

If he can repeat the form he showed against both Ross County and Cluj, then can be a very important player for the Hoops against Lazio.

There is also little chance of the player being rested against Aberdeen on Sunday. Even he is tired after the Lazio game, Elyounoussiis already too important to be left out of the side for an important league game.
