Moritz Jenz’s first media event at Celtic Park took place this afternoon and 67 Hail Hail were there to listen to what he had to say.

Jenz has arrived on a season-long loan from Lorient but has already spoken of his desire to stay at Celtic permanently and reiterated that in the press conference today.

The defender stated he can play on the left or right-hand side of a central defence, also capable of playing in the middle of a back three.

Asked about the skills and qualities he has that will fit into Ange Postecoglou’s way of playing, Jenz said: “I think my organisation skills, my aggressiveness, my anticipation of the situation, we will press high and my speed in the first metres are important.

“I like to have the first pass, I like to create, I like to give the ball as soon as possible to midfielders in good positions so they can create the attack. I like to be in control and dominate the game.”

67 Hail Hail also asked the German about his first training session with the Bhoys this morning, and his initial impressions were positive.

The big defender told us: “It was very good. I really enjoyed it. It was the training I like, intense, very offensive, lots of possession, which suits my game style. In France, we were fighting for survival so it’s a different type of football but this is really a style that suits me.”

Jenz spoke well throughout, and we’re working on getting video of the event to you as soon as possible.

That will go up on our YouTube channel this evening. The video will also include Aaron Mooy’s first meeting with Celtic supporters as well as a chat with Scott McDonald, who had plenty to say on all that’s going on at the club just now.
