Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson has confirmed his side will face Celtic before the start of the Premiership season.
The Northern Irishman’s men will take on Neil Lennon’s champions in a friendly on Sunday, as reported by the Daily Record.
Further details for the match are not clear yet, but Robinson explained the reasoning to the official Motherwell YouTube channel on Wednesday.

“We’ve chosen Rangers, we’ve chosen Celtic and we’ve chosen Rangers again in another bounce game.
“It’s a tough test but not something I will be getting too down about.”
Daily Record “chaos” was ill advised
So Celtic will face Motherwell, probably in a training ground game, on Sunday.
News that Lennon’s team will play a friendly this weekend is positive, after the Daily Record seemed to suggest some sort of crisis was developing at Parkhead.
On Wednesday night, the newspaper claimed our pre-season preparations had “been thrown into chaos”.

This update came after a potential Saturday meeting against Dundalk was called off, due to coronavirus restrictions placed on the Irish side.
The Record article seemed to insinuate that we wouldn’t be playing any matches this weekend – therefore leaving the team with less than ideal preparation for the league season which starts the following week.
But even if no Saturday game comes about, Hoops fans can rest easy in the knowledge that the team will get a run out on Sunday.

At this stage of the season, the match surroundings are less important. It’s more about getting minutes under our belt and boosting our match fitness ahead of the big kick-off against Hamilton Accies.
While some outlets try to create an image of a crisis engulfing Parkhead, just remember to collect the facts and come to your own conclusion.
