The November meeting between Celtic and Motherwell has been put back a day, the Lanarkshire side have confirmed.
The Hoops’ home game against Stephen Robinson’s men was originally scheduled for Saturday 9th November but it will now take place the following day. That’s after Celtic booked their place in the Europa League group stage.
The Parkhead clash will kick-off at 3pm unless it is chosen for live television coverage.
Celtic vs Motherwell won’t be the only match affected
One of the drawbacks of Europa League participation is Sunday football. Celtic can look forward to some added Sunday games before the year is out.
The first match to move will be the home clash against Kilmarnock on September 21st. That match will be played on the Sunday with a 3pm kick-off again likely.
Our away games against Livingston and Aberdeen in October are already scheduled for Sundays so they will not be affected. However, the aforementioned Motherwell clash and the trip to Ross County in November will both be delayed by a day.
Finally, the home match against Hibernian in mid December will also be played on a Sunday, after Celtic travel to Cluj.
The Thursday-Sunday double header of Lazio (home) and Aberdeen (away) looks like a real tough ask for Lennon and his players. Emptying the tank against the Italian giants and then having to travel up to Pittodrie two days later will be a real barometer of where our expectations lie.
