Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows admits he has “no idea” whether David Turnbull will eventually make the move to Celtic.

The 19-year-old’s move to the Scottish champions recently broke down after a knee problem was found during a routine medical. Turnbull is expected to go for surgery in the coming weeks and will continue as a ‘Well player for the foreseeable future.

Burrows took to his favoured social media platform Twitter to wish the midfielder all the best for his operation. He also thanked the Celtic medical team, including head physio Tim Williamson, for their “great care and sensitivity” towards the teenage sensation.

That initial tweet prompted a reply from a Celtic fan who asked Burrows if a deal to Celtic could be revisited in the future.

Celtic and Turnbull are still keen on move

Burrows’ “no idea” reply isn’t likely to surprise too many Celtic fans. The Turnbull saga has had that many twists and turns that not too many people can genuinely claim to know what’s going on.

What is known is that the Motherwell man was (and probably still is) keen on a move to the east end of Glasgow. Neil Lennon is still a fan too given his recent comments. The Scottish Sun reported the Northern Irishman as saying: “Could we revisit it? Absolutely.”

Time will tell what happens with Turnbull but it would be nice to think a future deal could be agreed.
