Former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has mocked Rangers on social media site Twitter, in response to a Daily Record report.

The paper shared a story on their Twitter feed last night detailing the Ibrox side’s efforts to relay their pitch while Scottish football is suspended.

Dembele, clearly tickled by the story, stated in response: “The only thing they will lift this season is their own pitch… #TheirOnlyWayToKnowHowItFeelsToBeCeltic.”

News broke today of course that Neil Lennon’s Celtic will be recommended as champions should the Scottish Premiership not be able to be completed.

Posted less than an hour ago, the comment from Dembele has already received thousands of interactions and hundreds of comments, with Dembele clearly still knowing how to push buttons in Scottish football.

Dembele was a derby specialist during his time as the main striker at Celtic Park, scoring seven goals and assisting four times in eight appearances for the Bhoys against Rangers (Transfermarkt).

Since moving to Lyon, he’s proven to be a goalscoring hit there too and is well on his way to securing a big-money move to an even more illustrious league.

On the way though, it appears is intent on continuing to wind Rangers up and delight Celtic fans at every opportunity.

It’s fair to say Celtic supporters have enjoyed his latest social media comment, taking to Twitter themselves to share their thoughts this afternoon…
