Moussa Dembele took time this morning to send a superb message to the Celtic supporters after winning the La Liga title yesterday.

Dembele won his first honour since leaving Celtic with Atletico Madrid yesterday. His loan spell in La Liga ended with him securing a title medal after a 2-1 win against Real Valladolid yesterday. The result kept them above both Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Moussa on the bench in the final game of the season.

The Frenchman is currently with Madrid on loan from parent club Lyon. However, despite only managing five sub appearances for Atletico, he still managed to help play a small part in the success.

And in typical Moussa fashion, he hasn’t been quick to forget the Celtic support. Many Hoops fans have been congratulating him on social media since yesterday’s achievement, and he published the following message on Twitter:

Moussa Dembele and the Celtic supporters = a match made in heaven

The affection the entire Celtic support has for Dembele is superb to see. It’s even better to see how much he appreciates it, however. He’s constantly bigging up the Hoops whenever we manage to secure success of our own. He typifies the kind of player that Celtic leaves a big mark on.

After all, it was Dembele’s arrival along with Scott Sinclair under Brendan Rodgers that ushered in a new era of Celtic dominance. The fans won’t ever forget what Moussa and co did for this football club.

That’s why, even nearly three years after he’s left the club, that connection is still there. Celtic fans adore seeing Moussa doing well, and that’s a two-way street as Dembele consistently shows on social media.

His line about the “Real Invincibles” is absolutely top class too. Dembele was part of two treble-winning season with Celtic – one done without losing a single game in any domestic competitions. It shows how in touch he still is with the Celtic support to bring this up.

In any case, massive congrats to Moussa once again. It doesn’t matter if he wasn’t the first choice in the pecking order. He’s played a small part, and will be absolutely buzzing with the achievement.

In other news, there are no more excuses for Celtic, it’s time to appoint Eddie Howe now.
