There is a tasty-looking international clash next week that is set to have some current Celtic stars facing each other.
The fixture between Japan and Canada is not a competitive one, but there are still some bragging rights on offer to the winner at Lennoxtown.
If you polled the Celtic support about their favourite current players, chances are that Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Alistair Johnston would all feature very heavily.
Our three Japanese stars have all offered so much since they moved to Scotland. Johnston is a little fresher in the door but is already a huge fan favourite after his performances.
The Canadian is a regular for his country and was unsurprisingly named in interim coach Mauro Biello’s squad for the game later this month. (Canada)
Maeda, Furuhashi and Hatate are less frequent contributors for Japan under Hajime Moriyasu. Yet all three have been included in his 26-man squad for the games against Canada and Tunisia. (Japan)

With Johnston extremely likely to play, and three potential Celtic options for Japan, we reckon there’s a very high chance we will see some tasty battles. With the Canadian being a defender and the other three more attacking players, they should be occupying similar areas of the pitch too.
The match will take place next Friday at the Denka Big Swan Stadium in Niigata, Japan. Kick-off is 11:35am Scottish time. Fingers crossed for no injuries.
