Neil Lennon admits that Greg Taylor is an option for Celtic to sign in the coming days.
The Hoops have until Monday evening to buy further players with a left-back understood to be firmly on Lennon’s wishlist. Taylor has been mentioned as a suitable candidate alongside Rosenborg’s Birger Meling but the club have not yet had a bid accepted for either.
However, Lennon insists a move could still happen as he set another intriguing deadline.

“We are looking for a left-back,” Lennon told the BBC. “There are a number of options and Greg would be one of those.
“We might have something today or tomorrow. I don’t have a definitive on that. These things take time.
“We will be looking to trim a few as well. There’s been a bit of interest for players on loan.”

Has Lennon learned his lesson with Taylor remarks?
It is interesting to hear Lennon set another ambitious deadline for getting a left-back in. The Northern Irishman has continually been made to look daft by his press conference comments and Celtic’s subsequent lack of business.
With just days to go until the end of the window it really is approaching now or never time for the club in terms of recruitment. We still have just Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo as our only proper left-back, following Kieran Tierney’s departure earlier this month.

We simply need another option in that position. Otherwise we may find ourselves relying on Jonny Hayes or some other player to play out of his natural comfort zone.
The majority of the Celtic support won’t care whether it is Taylor or Meling at this stage. They’ll just want to see someone brought in who can improve the team in the here and now.
