Neil Lennon has reiterated Celtic’s position with regards to Kieran Tierney and admitted he’s fed up of answering the same questions on the subject.

Speculation over the future of the 22-year-old has dominated the summer transfer window so far. Arsenal are reported to have had three bids for the left-back rejected, although Lennon revealed he was only aware of two.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Northern Irishman also shared his frustration at always being asked the same question.

Lennon said: “There is a lot of speculation – that is going to rumble on – and I am sort of at ad nauseam of answering the same questions over and over at every press conference.”

“It is as you were a week ago. Two bids have been in and two bids have been rejected. That is where we are.”

Lennon is right about Tierney chat

As Lennon has said at almost every press conference since he was named permanent manager – nothing has changed.

Arsenal may be extremely interested in taking Tierney to London but until they submit an acceptable offer to Celtic we’re still in the same position.

The Scotland full-back must be getting a little fed about all of the chatter too. He may well want to leave Celtic this summer, and nobody can really blame him, but Arsenal’s numerous failed bids clearly show they don’t rate him as highly as he’d like.

Thankfully this is all going to come to a close in the next fortnight or so. The English Premier League window closes at 5pm on Thursday 8th August so Arsenal will have to move by then if they want him.

Otherwise, we’ll get to keep one of our star players. In many ways it’s a win-win for the club. Lennon will just be counting down the days until he doesn’t have to answer that question.
