Kieran Tierney’s injury problems look set to continue, with Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirming he could be out for the season.
The left-back missed the squad that drew 0-0 at Hibernian today. Emilio Izaguirre deputised at Easter Road, and performed well on the day. He put some decent deliveries into the penalty area, and linked up well at times in Leith.
But the main talking point was Tierney’s omission. It was a mystery at the time of the announcement, but Lennon soon moved to confirm that it was an injury concern that ruled the Scotland full-back out.
And, speaking after the match about Tierney, Lennon confirmed that he may not play again this season.
Neil Lennon’s warned his Celtic players that ‘the holidays aren’t here yet’ after their 0-0 draw with Hibs.
He says the attitude of some of his players isn’t making him happy.

Izaguirre didn’t do anything wrong this afternoon
Not many will have likely been pleased by Izaguirre’s inclusion. His last appearance may have been the routine 2-0 win over St Mirren. In truth, however, it’s easy to last remember him for costing us at home to Valencia in the Europa League.
But the Honduran deserves some credit for his display this afternoon. He wasn’t ever beaten down the left, even if that was largely down to Hibs barely looking to exploit him. Added to that, he didn’t make any silly mistakes or positional errors.
There will be games where Izaguirre is challenged more than this afternoon, but that’s for another time. For such a difficult fixture on paper, the left-back deserves credit for his performance.
It now looks like we could see a renaissance from the Honduran. After all, Jonny Hayes appears to be getting his chance at left-wing these days, whilst Callum McGregor playing at left-back is a total no-go.
Izaguirre is the only natural replacement with Andrew Gutman out on loan. Therefore, keeping Izzy in the team is the right course of action between now and the end of the season.
Hopefully, there will be an improvement to Tierney’s condition, but it doesn’t look good at the moment. Whether we see him between now and the end of the campaign holds big question marks.
