Neil Lennon appears to be getting quite the gathering of support from the Celtic squad these days.
Since becoming manager, Lennon has split the supporters. Performances haven’t been great, but the treble treble is close to being wrapped up. The board will need to determine whether Lennon must be judged on results alone, or whether performances come into the mix. If it’s the latter, they then need to decide how Lennon has done.
His future is still up in the air. Celtic fans will hopefully hear an announcement fairly soon after the Scottish Cup final this Saturday. But it doesn’t seem as though Lennon has much of a problem when it comes to squad backing.

The latest was Scott Sinclair. He spoke to the media via Celtic TV yesterday, and praised Lennon for his impact.
“The manager has come in and he’s great. He’s got great passion for the club. He’s kept everything similar and made it as easy as possible for us.”
Sinclair isn’t the first
The Englishman simply joins a long list of players to have backed Lennon in recent weeks.
James Forrest earlier this week claimed that the Celtic squad would be happy if Lennon got the job (BBC). Those sentiments have previously been put forward by the likes of Scott Brown (The Herald) and Callum McGregor (Daily Record) respectively.

Even foreign stars such as Jozo Simunovic has thrown his weight behind the manager too (Scottish Sun). There has, therefore, been plenty of backing from the playing staff towards Lennon. He’s clearly a popular man in the dressing room, and the squad doesn’t seem as though they’ll be too displeased if they get the job.
Despite the performance levels, it would be difficult to claim that the squad isn’t playing for Lennon. Especially when you look at the fact they’ve won nine of 13 games under him. It’s hardly invincible stuff, but it’s a solid set of results.

It will be interesting to see if the squad have any influence over who the new man might be. Lennon is definitely receiving plenty of praise from them, and some are going out of their way to hail him too.
Lennon has made himself a popular figure amongst the squad by the looks of things. Will it be enough to get the job full-time combined with his results? It wouldn’t be overly-surprising.
