Celtic boss Neil Lennon has constantly been adamant that Odsonne Edouard will not be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window, no matter which teams are interested in him, and how much money is offered to the club.
He made the claim back in November, and now he has been forced to do it again. The reason for the latest denial is that the Daily Record are reporting that Leicester City are preparing a £30 million bid for the player in the summer.
Leicester City’s manager is of course former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, the man who signed Edouard for Celtic in the first place.
Now Lennon has been forced to put an end to more speculation about the player.

“We can’t stop bids coming in, but we don’t want to sell him, we want him here for the second half of the season” he said, as quoted by the BBC.
There is no doubt that as long as Edouard keeps finding the back of the net, clubs will be interested in him. However, selling him in the middle of a title race would be a huge mistake by Celtic.
Is there a chance that the player could leave Celtic at the end of the season? Perhaps. Especially when you consider that more teams could be interested in Edouard by then. That seems certain to happen if he helps the Hoops clinch nine in a row.
Bidding should start at £30 million
That would be a blow to the Hoops, as Edouard has been an integral part of the team’s success over the last few years. Should he move on in the summer the bidding should start at the £30 million Leicester City reportedly want to offer.
Only then will a realistic fee for Edouard’s services be reached. For now though, Celtic fans should be reassured by Lennon’s comments that the player will not leave in the January transfer window.
