Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that Olivier Ntcham will miss Thursday’s Europa League fixture against Lazio.
The £4.5 million signing suffered an ankle injury in training last week, and has not recovered in time. However, the good news for the Hoops fans is that he may return to fitness in time for Sunday’s game against Aberdeen.
“We are hoping”
“Ntcham is still unfit, and we are hoping that he’ll be fit for the weekend” Lennon told the Celtic Twitter account.

It has to be said that Ntcham would probably not have started for the Hoops against Lazio. The midfield duo of Callum McGregor and Scott Brown are most likely to get the nod to start the game from Neil Lennon.
Would be useful to have available for tough away trip
However, Ntcham would have been a more than useful option for Celtic to bring off the bench. It will be a bonus for Celtic if he is fit for Pittodrie though.
Should he make that game, it would give Neil Lennon the chance to rest one of his regular midfielders. He could then give Ntcham a start.
Hopefully Ntcham does return as quickly as Lennon hopes. The Hoops are in the middle of a very busy schedule at the moment.
They will need to use all the available options in their squad. Ntcham, when he is on his game, is one of Celtic’s better players.
He could be vital for a trip to Pittodrie only three days after a Europa League fixture. He still has a big part to play for Celtic this season, but first he must overcome this ankle injury.
