Neil Lennon has sent a message to the Celtic support as the club begin the process of selling season tickets for next season. A season which will hopefully see the Hoops going for 10 in a row.

However, the message to the support – published on the club’s official website – is perhaps more interesting than the usual plea for the fans to renew their season tickets for next season.

The reason for that, is that Lennon discloses his ‘overriding aim’ for the style of football he hopes to play as Celtic manager.

“This Club is my life and bringing success to Celtic will always be my goal” he said, as quoted by the official club website.

“Be the dominant team”

“My overriding aim will always be to give our fans exciting, attacking, winning football, to always be the dominant team in the country and to continue to bring you trophies” he concluded.

The aim has certainly been met this season – domestically at least. However, if Lennon wants to continue his aims next season then it could take an injection of cash, to make some major signings that will take the Hoops the next step forward.

Hoops have done well when spending big

Will that happen after the Celtic manager’s message to the fans? Only time will tell. However, it should be pointed out that the Hoops have done well when spending big recently. Both Christopher Jullien and Odsonne Edouard have been excellent signings.

It is unlikely that fans will desert the club in what could be one of Celtic’s most important seasons.

Hopefully the fans pay heed to Lennon’s message and support the club in great numbers. They could do that by renewing the season tickets for next season.

Who knows, that could allow the Hoops to make some more signings that would enable Neil Lennon to achieve his ‘overriding aim’ to help Celtic achieve even greater success.
