Celtic manager Neil Lennon isn’t planning on making any additions to his coaching staff, pleased with the balance he has right now between Damien Duff and John Kennedy, The Scottish Sun report.

The paper say that Lennon, upon securing a permanent role at the club, had initially wanted to make a further addition to the coaching team he inherited when arriving for his second spell as manager.

However, the Hoops boss is delighted with the contributions of Kennedy and Duff, feeling they help him with his own management skills when used as a sounding board.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he explained: “John Kennedy is a very calm, collected person about the place anyway. Damien Duff is a bit like a younger version of me. There is a good dynamic between the three of us at the moment.

“I think sometimes I will say to the lads, ‘was that too much?’ They will say ‘no, they needed that’. I get a good steer off them as well at times.

“I don’t think bringing someone else in is going to happen now because I am really set and I don’t want any disruption.”

Don’t fix a winning formula

With things going so well on the pitch right now, it’s no surprise to hear Lennon point out how harmonious things are between him and his staff.

Whatever he and his coaches are doing right now is clearly working and motivating the team towards big results and positive progress.

Kennedy has been key to helping the team transition from the Rodgers era to Lennon’s spell. It sounds like Duff is adding a bit of passion into things that Lennon relates to.

If the manager feels like he has a good blend then there is no need to change it up and bring another personality into the mix.

The summer Cluj blip aside, this Celtic side have been machine-like in doing what the team need to do.

Long may it continue.
