Celtic boss Neil Lennon addressed the nature of the transfer window in his pre-match press conference before the Hoops take on Ross County later today.
With the window only open for another six days, the Hoops boss expects there to be ‘curveballs’ in the last days and hours of the January window.
The Hoops boss confirmed that he would not be averse to making an unexpected signing if the circumstances were right.
“If one appeals to you”

“This is the last week of the window, normally there’s a few curveballs get thrown up and if one that appeals to you and it’s within the budget. I always think that you can go to the last hour of the window, so there’s plenty of time left” he said, appearing on a video on Celtic’s YouTube channel.
Celtic haven’t been afraid to make some unexpected signing in the past, especially in the January transfer window.
Two players that immediately spring to mind are the loan signings of Craig Bellamy and Robbie Keane. Those were moves that you wouldn’t necessarily expect Celtic to pull off, but the club did and both players performed well.
Close title race could be decided by transfer business

With the Hoops in the middle of a very close title race, perhaps that will inspire Neil Lennon to move for an experienced player who can give the Hoops an advantage over rivals Rangers.
There will no doubt be many players linked with Celtic over the next week. Many of those stories will turn out to be rumours.
However, if the Hoops can keep things quiet, and announce a prestigious signing in the last hours of the window, it would be a huge boost to the club and the fans.
Only time will tell if this happens, but at least the Hoops boss hasn’t ruled it out.
