As the games tick by, the legacy of Callum McGregor at Celtic just grows and grows.
On Saturday, Celtic recorded a 1-0 win over Ross County, as the man with the armband made appearance number 450 for the club.
Added to that, Callum McGregor has won an astonishing 20 trophies at Parkhead and you would assume he is nowhere near finished yet because he is at the peak of his powers.
Neil Lennon was sure to give the 30-year-old his flowers and how he is a ‘special’ player for Celtic, who shouldn’t be taken for granted, as he told PLZ Soccer.
It has been some journey for the highly-demanding midfielder, who isn’t just a key player on the domestic stage, but also for Scotland ahead of Euro 2024.
That further proves the big pressure he has on his shoulders and how he delivers most of the time.
In Celtic’s all-time list of most trophies won, Callum McGregor sits in fifth place. Five behind the record holder, Bobby Lennox, who was part of the European Cup-winning side.
It will be a matter of time before the skipper is heading towards the top of that tree because he will get there in the next few years.

“I have got 11 medals, I thought I was doing alright,” joked Lennon. “He has got 20! I was only up here for six or seven years.
“He’s special. A modern-day great, for Celtic anyway. Just a model pro, but a brilliant player. Go-to-guy in the big games. He still has a lot to offer for Scotland as well.
“You can’t take for granted how good he has been and the consistency he has shown over the years. 450 league games and 20 trophies. He will go on to break all sorts of records and he thoroughly deserves it.”
Two trophies up for grabs…
There isn’t going to be another Treble from the team this season, but that doesn’t hide the fact that two trophies can and should be won this term.
Everything is going right so far, in terms of what is being produced on paper. Sitting at the top of the table proves that.
But many Celtic fans know that the performances need to improve, or else, the fanbase will remain restless and frustrated.
