So far Celtic have signed two players in the January transfer window – Patryk Klimala, and Ismaila Soro. That is quite a low total of signings in the January window, especially compared to the last few seasons.
Last January, Celtic signed seven players, whilst in 2017-18, the number was six. However, as the 2020 January window gets set to draw to a close, Neil Lennon has provided a reason as to the relative lack of signings.
It is that he was pleased with the transfer business completed by the Hoops in the summer transfer window.
“I won’t bring players in just for the sake of it” he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“We had a good window”

“Put is this way, if the window closed tonight I’d be happy enough. It helps we had a good window last summer. I was delighted with it, even though one or two are out at the moment.”
Celtic’s summer transfer window business certainly was quite impressive. The Hoops signed 14 players in total, either in permanent deals or on loan.
The likes of Christopher Jullien, Fraser Forster, Jeremie Frimpong and Mohamed Elyounoussi have all contributed to the success the Hoops have had so far this season.
Therefore, it is easy to see why Lennon is so pleased with the business completed by the club last summer.
Have to imagine that more deals could get done

However, that might not mean that the Hoops have finished signing players in January. If the right player comes along in the next few days, no doubt Neil Lennon and the Celtic board will contemplate making a move for the player.
If the two players the club have signed in January so far make an impression between now and the end of the season, then not signing more than two players won’t be an issue for the Hoops.
However, if neither player contributes much or Celtic don’t go on to make it nine in a row, fans might well question the lack of numbers brought to the club in January.
