It is interesting to note that Celtic left-back Greg Taylor has not featured for the Hoops that often this season. He has played 10 times for the club since joining from Kilmarnock, and at times has seen Jonny Hayes and Boli Bolingoli take his place in the team.
However, Lennon is not concerned about Taylor’s lack of playing time this season. He has a long-term plan in mind for the player, and believes that he will become Celtic’s first choice right-back in the future.
“He’s working away”

“Greg’s on a long-term contract, and he will be here long-term. He’s in a squad that’s very high calibre, and he’s working away. He’s had a few opportunities, he’s done absolutely fine, and we went more from as he goes along, to the point where hopefully he’ll be a first-team regular going forward” Lennon said, in a video on STV News’ YouTube channel.
Lennon’s comments are sensible. He will be well-aware of how Greg Taylor has been performing for the Hoops, and no doubt has reasons why Celtic have at times rotated their left-back. The policy is working though, as the team have won their last nine league games in a row.
Taylor cannot play every game. As the manager says, it is a ‘high calibre’ squad. It would be more of a concern if he wasn’t playing at all, but thankfully that isn’t the case.
The player’s time will eventually come

Taylor’s time will come, and eventually he should be Celtic’s regular left-back. The time for that to happen might not be this season, and that is fine.
Neil Lennon knows what he is doing. He has had nothing but success in his two spells as Celtic manager. He will know that Taylor still has plenty of time left to impress in a Hoops jersey.
Lennon is handling the situation well, and hopefully Celtic will benefit in years to come.
