Celtic boss Neil Lennon has had say on Celtic’s Betfred Cup semi-final scheduling. In a move that is perhaps unexpected, the Hoops will take on Hibs at Hampden Park on Saturday the 2nd of November, with a kick off time of half past five.

The evening kick-off time is not what the players will be used to. Lennon has admitted that it will be ‘awkward’.

“It’s a bit of an awkward time for a kick-off but it will take a little bit of adjustment, that’s all. A different routine pre-match, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it, and we’ll be prepared” he told the Hoops’ Twitter account.

As Lennon says, it will be a different feeling for the players to prepare for a game with an early evening kick-off. Interestingly, the Hoops are in league action against St Mirren on the Wednesday before the semi-final. That may come into the manager’s consideration when he picks his team for the semi-final.

Manager will take game very seriously

Lennon has said that the team will be ‘prepared’ for the different kick-off time. You would imagine that he will be taking the game very seriously.

He has yet to win the Betfred Cup as a manager. He will be looking to change that this season. First though, he has to defeat Hibs to make the final in December. The Hoops boss will not even be thinking for the final yet. He will be taking one game at a time. However, when the semi-final is on the horizon the Hoops will start to focus on that.
