Celtic boss Neil Lennon provided a positive injury update on a Celtic duo following the 3-0 win over Ross County.

He disclosed that Odsonne Edouard should be fit for the midweek trip to St Johnstone and even though Jeremie Frimpong may miss that game, he will be back sooner rather than later.

“He should be okay”

“Edouard had an x-ray last night and his foot was in a boot. We were concern he wouldn’t do the 90 minutes, but he looked fresh and had an incredible impact. He should be okay for Wednesday” Lennon said, as quoted by the Celtic Twitter account after Edouard had come on in the second-half against Ross County and scored two goals.

Lennon then turned his attention to Frimpong, who suffered a knee injury in the recent 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

“Isn’t going to be long term”

“We’re not sure Frimpong will be fit for Wednesday but it’s not bad and isn’t going to be long term” he said, as quoted by Celtic’s Twitter account.

These are two very positive pieces of news for Celtic, as Edouard and Frimpong are very important to how the team plays. That was shown in the game against St Johnstone.

The Hoops struggled in the match until Edouard killed the game off with two quick-fire goals. It would be a huge blow to the team if Edouard suffered an injury, therefore Lennon did the right thing in not giving him the 90 minutes.

As for Frimpong, his absence against St Johnstone will be a blow, but Moritz Bauer can once more replace him, as he did against Ross County.

When you consider how serious his injury looked, it is a relief he will be back soon, as he has been superb since breaking into the first-team.

It has been a good week for Celtic with three wins out of three, this positive injury news can only add to that.
