Celtic manager Neil Lennon has stated that he hopes Albian Ajeti will be back in training within days.
Ajeti picked up a hamstring tweak after scoring against Hibernian 10 days ago. The Swiss forward missed Celtic’s next two matches against Sarajevo and St Johnstone respectively.
The Hoops will welcome Rangers to Parkhead on October 17th – the first game after the international break. As you would expect, there’s a strong desire from many to see him back fit for that one.

And Lennon has provided a promising update on where the striker is at in his recovery.
As quoted by the Herald, he said: “I spoke to him yesterday morning when he came in to do some running and I hope he’ll join us again for training at the end of this week or the start of next week.”
Ajeti just about there – Rangers must be in his sights
This is massive news for Celtic, especially when you take into account the fact that we could be missing Odsonne Edourd due to his positive virus test (Daily Record).
It’s not as if Ajeti should need much time to build up his fitness in training anyway. He’s only missed a week or so of action so far, so there’ll be no big build-up period for him like there was at the start of the season.
So long as he isn’t injured, Ajeti will surely be the favourite to start against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers. He deserves it too after bagging five goals in his first six Premiership appearances.

Ajeti wasn’t called up to the Switzerland squad due to his knock, which will undoubtedly have pleased Lennon after Nir Bitton went on duty with Israel despite carrying an ankle injury.
In reserve of course, Celtic have their two goalscorers at the weekend – Patryk Klimala and Leigh Griffiths. Both of them will be chomping at the bit to be released against Rangers at some stage.
However, having Ajeti back is the biggest boost we can have in the run-up to the game outside of Edouard being available. Hopefully, he has a solid week of training to build up his fitness.
In other news, a report has shed light on when Odsonne Edouard contracted the virus; with Celtic holding key talks yesterday.
