Neil Lennon believes that Scott Brown will go down in history for his achievements at Celtic.
The current Hoops captain signed for the club back in 2007 from Hibs. Since then, he’s managed to collect a total of eight Premierships, four Scottish Cups, and five League Cup successes.
This season, he looks likely to finish with 19 trophies overall if the Hoops wrap up the Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

Added to that, Brown has proven to be an inspirational on-field leader. And speaking in the Celtic View (Volume 54, Issue 37, Page 6), interim boss Lennon has heaped tremendous praise on the Celtic icon.
“Scott Brown will go down in the annals of history as a great player. I think he’s a modern-day great, he knows his way around the pitch and even at 33, he’s still playing some great football.
“He is now captaining us to hopefully eight titles in-a-row, and there’s not many who could do that.
“His consistency, his personality, his character, and his football are all fantastic for this club.”
Brown will be irreplaceable
Brown only recently signed a new two-year contract. Afterwards, as his contract culminates in the (hopefully) season of 10IAR, don’t be surprised if he moves into a coaching position at Parkhead.
But as for the playing side of things, Celtic won’t be able to truly replace Brown. The idea will be finding a player with a similar package to Brown, but there’s no hope of getting a player that embodies the Hoops the way the current captain does.

He’ll go down as a Celtic legend when it’s all said and done. Only once he does go will we truly appreciate what a stunning captain and natural born winner he’s proved to be.
Brown has proven to be the most iconic footballer Scottish football has had in over a decade. Finding a player that’s had an effect on Scottish football like the stalwart isn’t possible.
So Lennon is spot on to say what he has done. When Brown hangs up the boots, it’ll be an extremely sad day for Celtic. But his legacy will live in the trophy room of Parkhead forever.
