Neil Lennon has named his first Celtic team in four months – as the Hoops get their 2020/2021 season underway.

And the Hoops boss has gone strong for the clash against Ligue 1 side OGC Nice in Lyon’s Groupama Stadium.

Lennon has gone with Scott Bain in nets, and a back four of Jeremie Frimpong, Christopher Jullien, Kristoffer Ajer and Greg Taylor.

The midfield sees captain Scott Brown and Callum McGregor holding while James Forrest, Ryan Christie and Mohamed Elyounoussi are in front of them.

Up top, in his homeland, is Odsonne Edouard.

Fans have been reacting to the line-up, in a manner of ways.

Why has Lennon gone so strong?

This is perhaps the team that the Hoops boss will want to start our league opener against Hamilton with.

Other than goalkeeper Scott Bain, who we will likely look to upgrade, it is an incredibly strong line-up for the first clash of pre-season.

Lennon perhaps feels that, with only a couple of weeks to go until the Premiership opener, he has less time than usual to bed in his first-team stars.

Regular starters like Brown, Forrest and McGregor will have had four months off to relax after a busy couple of years.

It will be interesting to see how those three in particular get on in Lyon.

The bench is also stacked full of talent with the likes of Olivier Ntcham, Nir Bitton, Patryk Klimala, Ismaila Soro and Karamoko Dembele all included.

Kick-off in Lyon is at 5:15pm Scottish time, with the match live on Premier Sports
