There is no doubt that Odsonne Edouard was at the heart of Celtic’s recent Glasgow derby victory against Rangers at Ibrox.

The Hoops attacker scored the opening goal in the Hoops’ 2-0 victory, continuing his great record against Celtic’s biggest rivals.

Interestingly, manager Neil Lennon has indicated that Edouard, alongside fellow Hoops attacker James Forrest, do most of their talking on the park.

“James takes everything in but doesn’t give much away” Lennon said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, issue 09, page 07).

“Odsonne’s very similar. One of the staff summed it up best when they said he talks to you with his eyes.”

It is certainly very intriguing that two of Celtic’s most important players are two of the quieter players in the dressing room.

However, that method seems to work for both players. Forrest has been one of Celtic’s best players in the last few seasons.

Meanwhile, Edouard has gone from strength to strength in his time at the club. He is undeniably a player who has a bright future in the game, Celtic fans should relish the time he is still at the club.

Perhaps one of the reasons that both players have been so successful for Celtic is their willingness to listen to what has been said by the coaches, and take it in.

That is a lesson that young players should take note of. If they pay attention intently to what their coaches say, they can go on to have a good career.
