Neil Lennon on when he'd like Celtic transfer business completed by
Celtic boss Neil Lennon has disclosed when he’d like to see the Hoops transfer business completed by in the January transfer window.
He would like to see the Hoops have their business completed by the time the squad heads to Dubai for their January winter training break.
“It’d be ideal”
“It’d be ideal, but whether we can do it is another thing. There will be other clubs interested in the players that we are interested in as well. If we can get them out to Dubai, brilliant. If not, we’ve got the whole month to do a bit of business” Lennon said, as reported by the Scotsman.
It would indeed be ‘ideal’ as Lennon states if the Hoops can get any new signings in the squad by the time the team heads to Dubai. Joining up with the squad would give any new signing the time to meet-up and get to know their new team-mates. It would also give the player extra time to get used to playing with Celtic and the training methods used etc.
The fact that Neil Lennon is eager to get any deals done quickly is a good thing for the club. It shows that the management at Celtic are keen to integrate any new arrivals as quickly into the squad as possible. That could indicate that any new arrival is set to be a player that will be first-team ready.
Bodes well for January arrivals
That bodes well for the types of signings that Celtic could be making in the January transfer window.
Of course, we will just need to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks. Teams might drag out any transfers that Celtic are aiming to complete. Also, as Lennon says, there is time to get deals completed if they don’t happen before Celtic head to Dubai.
The January transfer window will be vital to Celtic. Hopefully the deals are completed as soon as Lennon wants them done.
