Neil Lennon praises ‘fantastic’ Celtic legend who was seriously underrated

Celtic’s recent successes before Ange Postecoglou came to the club was one of the most glittering periods of our recent history.

A second nine-in-a-row encompassed a Quadruple Treble and it was all started, and finished, by Neil Lennon.

Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers both played their parts in that as well with Rodgers adding an incredible Invincibles treble into the mix.

And throughout all that we had players like Moussa Dembele, Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair all contributing.

Scott Brown is Celtic’s ‘underrated’ footballer

Neil Lennon was speaking about his success at the club and was told by Alan Brazil that going into a Glasgow Derby, Brown is the one player you would love to have in your side.

The former Celtic manager couldn’t agree more and said that in his eyes, Broony didn’t get the credit he deserved.

Lennon said [talkSPORT], “He was fantastic for me like. A very underrated footballer. He had great power in his legs. His football got better as he got on.

“But as a guy in the dressing room he was absolutely fantastic. And a great lad. A very humble boy.

“And as he said a lot of his pals played for Rangers. A really close group they had those Hibs boys as they came down to Glasgow.”

Scott Brown is one of Celtic’s most decorated players in our history. Captaining Celtic to a Quadruple Treble and another nine-in-a-row will ensure he goes down in the Celtic history books forever.

Even though he never left Celtic at his peak to try his hand in the Premier League, the Celtic fans are in no doubt just how good he was.

Lennon is clearly addressing a narrative that surrounds the legendary midfielder that because he never branched out to one of the big leagues he didn’t test himself enough.

Of course, that is complete nonsense because Brown was part of a side that reached the last 16 of the Champions League and the last 32 of the Europa League twice.

Make no mistake, Brown was a great player for us. We all know it and, to be honest, so did the four managers he played under over his illustrious career at Celtic.
