Celtic attacker Mohamed Elyounoussi has been missed quite badly by the Hoops in his time out of the side. The Southampton loanee has only played 45 minutes for the Hoops in the last month as he has been suffering with a foot injury.
However, the good news for Celtic is that Neil Lennon has provided a promising injury update on the player.
“Elyounoussi will be back by the end of the month” Lennon said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
That would be a significant boost for the Hoops in their quest for nine in a row, should Elyounoussi return before the end of the January transfer window.
In excellent form before injury struck

The winger was in an excellent run of form before the foot injury derailed his season. It isn’t too far-fetched to say that Celtic’s performances in December wouldn’t have dropped out as badly as they did if Elyounoussi had been available for selection.
With Celtic set to play a number of games in a short space of time, Elyounoussi’s return can only help Celtic when it comes to challenging for honours in the second-half of the season.
Will be key man for Europa League challenge

He will be very useful to have available for the Europa League match against Copenhagen as well. He has been excellent for Celtic in Europe this season.
Elyounoussi won’t feature against Partick in the Scottish Cup on Saturday. You have to imagine he won’t be risked against Kilmarnock on the plastic pitch of Rugby Park on Wednesday night.
Therefore, he could return to the squad for the game against Ross County next Saturday. Even his presence on the Celtic bench would be a boost to the Hoops squad, and his teammates.
In what looks to be a very close title race, Celtic will need their best players to drag them to the title. Elyounoussi certainly fits into that criteria.
