Interim Celtic manager Neil Lennon was recently spotted at the Championship play-off clash between West Brom and Aston Villa.
A couple of familiar faces in the crowd tonight. 👀

The reasons for him being there are not yet known. Even though he has not been named as Celtic boss for next season, that won’t have stopped him from looking at prospective signings.

If that was the case, the player he should have been scouting is West Brom’s on-loan player Mason Holgate.
Holgate joined the Baggies on loan from Everton in January has been a revelation for them, making 23 appearances.

Now that his loan deal is all but over, the Hoops should swoop in and try to get the player to Celtic Park for next season.
Can solve problem position

Holgate is nominally a right-back, but can also play at centre-back, which are two problem positions for the club.
Right-back in particular has been a problem, and Holgate could provide the solution to that.
The Liverpool Echo reported back in March that Everton have no plans to sell Holgate. Therefore, any move would have to be a loan deal.
That might not be ideal, but it would at least give Celtic time to either sign or develop a right-back during Holgate’s time at the club.
Hopefully Lennon’s liked what he saw from the player and encouraged Celtic to get a deal done. He would be a more than useful addition to the squad for next season.
