Celtic’s kit makers New Balance have given fans a sneaky glimpse at the new home shirt ahead of its launch later today. The American brand posted a 10 second video on their Twitter account showing a number of first team players donning the famous jersey.
They also posted the caption “New for the Hoops” alongside the video.
The new Celtic home shirt will be unveiled at an event in Glasgow this evening, but for the majority unable to make it to the city’s Argyle Street Arches it will also be shown online.

Five stars unlikely
Rumoured images of the new kit have been floating around online with some depicting the Celtic logo below five stars. With the Hoops a point away from league title number 50, stranger things have happened. Although it’s more likely that the unmatched achievement of the Lisbon Lions will be honoured with a single star.

The jersey also has a green collar and some neat black marks on the ends of the sleeves.
In previous years, Celtic have used their end of season charity matches and testimonials to blood the new kit, but as there is no such match this time round, we may have to wait until the start of next season to first see it in action.
