Celtic have made a brilliant start to the campaign under Brendan Rodgers, and nobody has characterised their relentless performances more than Nicolas Kuhn.
The German winger joined Celtic in January for £3.5 million and admittedly took a few months to fully settle into his new environment.
With expectation on him to succeed, Nicolas Kuhn suffered illness brought on by dental surgery and lost a significant amount of weight in a short space of time.
Now at full tilt, the Celtic star has registered five goals and eight assists in his opening 13 appearances this term. Stat-trackers Fotmob state he has also created 14 chances and completed 11 dribbles, so there is clear evidence of his rise to prominence under Brendan Rodgers.
Becoming a shining light for the Bhoys, Kuhn has now been tipped to go onto further heights if he continues his current streak of form.
Steffen Hoffman says Nicolas Kuhn can make Celtic millions
Speaking to The Celtic Way, Rapid Vienna CEO Steffen Hoffman has predicted that Kuhn could one day make Celtic millions in the transfer market after providing an insider view on his qualities.
He explained, starting with the process of his move to Glasgow: “I helped broker the deal that took Nic to Celtic, and when they made their first move, I advised him not to go.
“I was dead against it, and I fought tooth and nail to keep him at the club as I wanted him to stay with Rapid Vienna. In his first year with Rapid, he was injured a fair bit, but now he is flying at Celtic and scoring all the time, and that is the player I wanted Nic to be for Rapid.”
Finishing off, Hoffman later said: “The biggest question for me now is how long will Nic stay at Celtic?Celtic should enjoy him for as long as they have him. I am sure there will be potential suitors and clubs interested in his services from England and lining up soon enough.
“It won’t be long before Celtic will be having the same conversations that I had with them when they came in to sign Nic. I think that is normal. It is a natural progression. Rapid Vienna knows where they are in European football terms and so do Celtic.
“Nic made the right step by joining Rapid Vienna and now he has taken the next correct career step by moving to Celtic. All eyes are now focused on Nic and where and when his next big move will be. It will happen to him.”
Brendan Rodgers is loving Nicolas Kuhn at Celtic
Speaking about his recovery from illness, Brendan Rodgers noted how impressed he was with Kuhn’s physical condition at Celtic, as he stated last month: “He is physically strong and he has started the season so well and his contribution has been huge for us. I am delighted with him.”
The Irishman’s words ring true to many supporters. The Bhoys opted not to sign a winger in the summer, and if early indications from this term are anything to go by, their decision appears to have been vindicated.
Kuhn isn’t just a player that is easy on the eye. He has brought discernable end product to the table, helping to eliminate any early doubters’ thoughts on his spell at the club.
Arguably the Bhoys’ top performer this campaign, fans will be excited to see how he lights up Celtic Park in the coming weeks.
