Nicolas Kuhn is showing everyone what he is about at Celtic after taking a few months to get himself in the ideal physical condition to star for the Scottish Premiership champions.
By now, everyone connected with the club will know about his dental surgery last season, which limited his initial scope of impact in Glasgow. Before Celtic progressed into the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Falkirk, Kuhn revealed he is feeling better than ever after suffering the early setback.
He stated: “I knew if I’m fit, I will play well. The team, the coaches, the staff, they helped me a lot. I’ve said a lot of times, when I came in, it was a little bit difficult for me, but now I’m feeling good. Of course, when it’s going well, it’s really nice. Now I’m settled in, I just feel well, so the performances are coming from myself.”
The German winger is certainly giving Celtic their money’s worth after completing a £3.5 million move from Rapid Vienna in January, registering five goals and six assists in his first eight appearances this term.
Marvin Bartley agrees that Kuhn had enjoyed a brilliant start to the new campaign. Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, the former Hibernian man also believes his emergence has set an example at Celtic.
Marvin Bartley on Nicolas Kuhn’s Celtic form
On the airwaves, Bartley pointed out that Kuhn’s recent entrance to the spotlight amid an initially tricky opening period at Celtic has shown why patience is a virtue regarding new signings.
He stated: “Yes, it’s a really good reminder for us as supporters because we always say about it, we want things instantly and the player has two or three bad games and all of a sudden there a bad player. Kuhn had a difficult start, obviously, dental reasons, et cetera.”

Later, he added: “But now he’s been brilliant and, listen, coming off the bench the other day, you could almost feel it, you know, the fans seeing him warm up and then being pulled back, him and three others at the time.
“He just came on and took the game by the scruff of the neck and just showed the real quality he does have. So, yeah, I think he’s a perfect example.”
Nicolas Kuhn is another example of Celtic’s talent radar
Football is a funny old game. Only a few months ago, you would’ve been hard-pressed to find many Celtic supporters who believed Kuhn could reach the heights he has now.
However, a strong pre-season has given the German winger a new lease of life, translating into his opening performances as the Bhoys make an early play for success.
Following a long line of talented assets identified by the club and brought in for modest fees, the sky is the limit if he keeps himself free of injuries.
Entering double figures on the goal contribution front by the end of September takes some doing, but Kuhn has started the campaign like a house on fire. Hopefully, he can continue to produce moments of magic as the fixture schedule intensifies.
